Old timers tell us that Isaac Witter’s son, Jere, once flew an airplane under the Grand Avenue Bridge. Well, we don’t know if it happened or not, but there is an interesting story that you won’t want to miss in the latest issue of our publication ARTIFACTS. This magazine comes as part of your membership.

We welcome any photos of local business men, stores, restaurants or other businesses from the Centralia, Grand Rapids, Wisconsin Rapids and surrounding areas. In addition, any memorabilia from these businesses would be greatly appreciated.
Glacial Lake Wisconsin was a prehistoric proglacial lake that existed from approximately 18,000 to 14,000 years ago, at the end of the last ice age. Before the last glacier, a somewhat different Wisconsin River drained the north-central part of the state, running around the east end of the Baraboo Hills.
From June 21-24, join us in Wisconsin Rapids for a series of more than twenty events including live music, a parade, arts and crafts, cranberry blossom tours, and of course, culinary treats featuring Wisconsin’s tart and tangy fruit, the cranberry!
